Nutritional Therapy in Dorking and surrounding areas

How Nutritional Therapy Works

The day to day foods that we eat have an enormous impact on our health both physically and emotionally. What we put into our bodies determines how we feel and how we perform.

Nutritional therapy has a double role in healthcare; that of disease prevention (before symptoms occur) and health support (after symptoms have appeared). Your individual needs are taken into account when planning and giving balanced dietary advice and this is designed to be sustainable.

You will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and a 3-day food diary before your initial consultation. After your first appointment, your medical history will be thoroughly researched. Appropriate diagnostic tests may be recommended to help understand all the possible factors affecting you. Common tests may include food allergy testing, stool analysis and hormone tests.

An individually tailored programme will be drawn up which may recommend nutritional supplements to help address specific conditions and encourage optimal health.

The consultations are educational and aimed at providing guidance for you to continue to apply this knowledge throughout your life. Recipe/menu suggestions and specific handouts will be provided.

A minimum of one follow-up appointment is advised to assess progress and provide further advice on diet, health and lifestyle. However, complex or chronic conditions may benefit from on-going support.
